3.30.10We Have Ourselves a Little Fish

by Kim

Zachary started his Water Babies class on Monday night.  It is a class to get him used to being in the water.  As soon as we stepped foot out of the locker room, Zach had a huge smile on his face!  He could not wait to get into the water.  Since it was the first class, he got to do activities where he floated around sitting up, then on his tummy while kicking his feet, and sang a few songs.  The last one was to see if the kids were brave enough to get into the water by themselves from the side of the pool.  Zach hoisted himself from sitting position into the water where Jake was ready to catch him!!! Zach was laughing, clapping and smiling the whole time!!!!

3.24.10Less than 9 Weeks to go…yikes!!!!

by Kim

We are under the 9 week mark for our new bundle of joy to arrive.  Actually 2 months from today.  Jake and I are both so excited to meeting this little one, but we are also very nervous and scared!  Not sure what it is going to be like having two 18 months and younger in our house.

I am still doing and feeling great!  I am going to the doctor every two weeks.  Pretty basic check-ups…weight, blood pressure, measure my belly and listen to the heartbeat.  Last week the baby’s heartbeat was at 147.  The baby had moved sides, so now his/her head is on my left side.  He/she sure knows how to jab!!!!  Sometimes it is really painful!  Other times I just love to sit there and watch the baby move around and try to guess what body part is pressing against me.  I am measuring the same as I was with Zachary, but have only gained 13lbs.  My doctor has not said anything to me, so I guess everything is good.  I am still working out 3-4 times a week.  Cardio is getting slower and slower, but I keep going and try to mix it up between the treadmill and elliptical.

(sorry for the headless picture…took it myself since Jake is out of town)

3.24.1016 Months Old

by Kim

This past month has really gone by fast!!!  Maybe it is because it is getting nicer outside and we are doing more out of the house.   We started on February 19th not giving him a bottle at night.  Zachary now drinks only out of sippy cups.  He really likes the ones that have straws.  He is back to eating veggies.  For a few weeks he wanted nothing to do with them, but now he likes them, so that makes me happy.  He still LOVES pancakes and is a big fan of yogurt.  Some days Jake and I can not believe how much this little boy eats!

We started sitting him on the potty the beginning of March.  Zach did really well the first two days, then cried every time he got near the potty, got the flu and a cold and now we are back on track.  I just sit him on there 3 or 4 times a day and usually he will go.  I have noticed we are cutting back on the number of diapers we use everyday, so that is a plus!  Zach also likes getting an M&M when he is done…puts a big smile on his face :)

Zachary is starting to try to say more words.  I keep asking him questions and he will answer “yes.”  He will also say “more, more” when he wants more to eat and I have been working on “please” and “thank-you.”

Zach loves to play outside.  He has already made a little friend in the neighborhood, Anie.  Now if the weather would stay warm all the time, we would spend every afternoon outside in the fresh air.

Zachary continues to make us laugh everyday and amaze us with new things that he learns.  He is our pride and joy and we love him so much!!!!

3.22.10Enjoying an Ice Cream Sandwich

by Kim

Zachary sure has a sweet tooth just like Jake and I!!!!  This was the first time I let him eat the ice cream on his own and I must say he did pretty well!!!  Not sure if I see a cone of his own in the near future, but maybe another sandwich :)

3.22.10Zach’s New Haircut

by Kim

While Zach and I were in EP, we went to the Clipper Station for a haircut.  I was sad to see his curls in back gone, but he looks so cute now!!!  Just like a little boy.  One of my classmate’s growing up, Heather, did a fantastic job!!!!!  She even let Zach take home a small bottle of hair gel so we can spike his hair when we go out.

3.15.10Is Spring Really Here????

by Kim

Last Wednesday it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon, so Zachary and I enjoyed a walk to the park near our house.  He was pretty scared on the swings at first, but then got used to it and loved them!  He also had fun climbing on the bridges and going down the slides.  We can not wait for more warmer days to enjoy outside!!!

3.8.10Second Weekend with Aunt Brianne

by Kim

Jake and I came down with the flu Friday night and Aunt Brianne came to the rescue!  She came up on Saturday morning and took Zach out shopping and then back to her house.  I am not sure how Jake and I would have managed if Brianne was not available.  I felt terrible already that all Zach got for breakfast on Saturday was dry Cheerios because I just did not have any energy to make him anything.  It seems that Zachary had another fun-filled weekend with his Aunt B, Uncle Travis and cousin Nick!!!!

Looks like Zach woke up and was ready to exercise!

Will Zach be the next Mozart????

3.8.10Trying out the Potty

by Kim

On March 1st, I decided I would get out Zach’s potty chair and just see how he does with it.  To my surprise the first two days were a success!!!!  After that, it went downhill.  I will keep working with him.  I was just happy that he was not afraid of the potty.  I do not think he will be fully potty-trained by time the new baby arrives, but would be nice to cut down on the diapers we use per day with Zach :)

3.8.10Zachary’s Weekend at Aunt Brianne’s

by Kim

Jake surprised me the last weekend of February by arranging my sister to watch Zach while the two of us got massages, a facial and enjoyed a wonderful dinner together.  Zachary seemed to have so much fun at his Aunt B’s house being able to run in circles, climb behind the couch, look out many windows and climb up the staircase.  Brianne even put him to work on Sunday cleaning! :)   He seems to be quite the little helper.

3.8.10Cuddle Time

by Kim

Now that Zach is on the move, we do not get to spend too much time just cuddling anymore.  This rare moment happened after a fun-filled day at his babysitter Sharon’s house.  Zach was wiped out and just wanted to sit on mommy’s lap and relax.  I loved every minute of it!!!!
