12.22.09Winter Wonderland

by Kim

Today was Zachary’s first time playing in the snow.  He was not quite sure what to do…he could not figure out how to walk too far in all his snow gear and he was not too fond of touching the snow.  He did have fun while Jake was pulling him in his sled…(we practiced inside for a bit when he got the sled). :)

This picture makes me laugh because it reminds me of Randy from A Christmas Story :)

12.20.0913 Months Old

by Kim

We can not believe another month has gone by!  This past month has been pretty busy.  Zachary and I did lots of Christmas shopping together.  I must say he is one great little shopper!  We can also tell he is getting bigger…we are moving onto 12 month clothes.  His 9 month pants are getting mighty short.  Not sure if he gained any weight or not…he feels the same, so we are guessing still around 20lbs.

Zachary is on the move constantly.  Jake and I rarely find him sitting down for a break.  He just loves to walk from our kitchen to our patio window and back again.  When we are upstairs he makes laps in and out of his room, then down the hall and back.  He is getting really quick too.  Zach completely off baby food and seems to really like all the “big people” we give him.  He is a big fan of fig nuten cookies.  We have him down to drinking out of a bottle twice a day, so that is our next step…sippy cups only.  We have been working with him on body parts and so far he knows where his belly is.  Zach is one curious little boy.  He loves to open cabinets, drawers, whatever to see what is inside.  He will also say “all done” some of the time when he is done eating.  For as much as he babbles, words have got to start coming soon.

Each and every day with Zachary is so much fun!  We just love his big smile and watching him play.

12.20.09Santa Visits Auntie Sharon’s

by Kim

The Christmas party at Zachary’s babysitters was on Thursday afternoon.  I was so happy that I was able to go and help out.  All the kids had so much fun and the oldest little girls were SO excited that Santa had called them earlier in the day to say he would be stopping by around 2:30pm.  One little boy cried and cried, but all the others did really well!  That afternoon ended with special Christmas treats for snacktime.

Not to worry, all these kids are usually not there at the same time :)

All the boys-Peyton, Tommy, Brayden, Zach and Liam

All the girls-Kara, Katy, McKenna and Cailey

12.20.09Christmas Fun with some Friends

by Kim

Tuesday afternoon, Zach and I went over to Nicki and Taylor’s house.  Ava also joined us.  The kids had a lot of fun playing together!  I just love that they can all play together so nicely.  Taylor had a lot of toys that Zach seemed to really enjoy playing with and Nicki made some really yummy treats!

12.20.09Zachary’s New Friend

by Kim

Jake received this huge Raggedy Ann in a white elephant gift exchange.  We were not sure how Zach would react to her, but he seemed to like her.  Only once, did Raggedy fall over on top on him :)

12.20.09Getting into the Christmas Spirit

by Kim

Here Zach has discovered an ornament that sounds like a bell.  Once he figured out it made a sound, he yanked it off the tree!  Overall he does really well with the tree and ornaments.  He has four favorites he tends to find every night.

All I did was run to our basement for a quick minute.  When I came back upstairs, Zach had crawled under our table to get to the managers.  I guess he wanted to know more about Baby Jesus.  Next year the glass nativity sets will go on top :)

Practicing his smile in front of the tree.

Notice his bump on his head….he took a little spill into the side of the toilet while Jake was cleaning the mirror.  He cried for a bit, but thank goodness not too much swelling or bruising.  I was expecting his forehead to be black and blue.
