10.30.09Happy 80th Birthday, Grandma Harpenau

by Kim

My mom’s side of the family gathered last Saturday in Bloomington to celebrate my grandma’s birthday.  We all went to mass and then enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Ozark House.

The majority of the Harpenau clan.  A few of the grandkids were missing due to living in Arizona and being under the weather.

Great Grandma with great-grandkids Lucas, Zachary and Logan.  She also has 5 more great-grandkids that live in Arizona.

Logan enjoyed feeding Zach some applesauce.  Logan was a great helper!!!!

After dinner, these three boys were non-stop crawling all over the place!  Zach loved being chased by them!  Christmas is going to be so much fun watch them play together.

Zachary with Aunt Brianne.  Zach really likes to point his little finger now.  It is so cute!!!!

10.30.09Our Mischieveous Little Boy

by Kim

I guess needed a snack because he crawled over to his bag, found his snack bowl and opened it up!

The next thing he got into was our DVDs.  I guess Zach needed to check out his choices for the afternoon movie! :)

10.30.09Fun Fall Day

by Kim

The weather was a perfect fall day last Wednesday, so Mindy, Taylor, Zachary and I headed to Brookfield Zoo.  The kids enjoyed looking at the animals.  Zach’s favorite to look at was probably the otters since he could get up and close and watch them swimming back and forth.

That pumpkin is real, weighing over 1300 pounds!!!!

10.19.0911 Months Old!!!

by Kim

How can it be that Zachary is 11 months old already?  This past month has brought many “firsts” for Zach.  He started to say “mama”, he pulls himself up on EVERYTHING, he is getting the hang of walking around things, and he got two more bottom teeth.  We finally found a gate that works with our stairs and within two days of putting it up, Zach had pulled the whole thing down on top of him.  So now it is tied to the staircase with shoestrings.  We can find Zach sometime reaching into our fireplace to try and get the dirt onto his hands.  He is a VERY mobile little boy with lots of energy to burn everyday.  We have tried to introduce more solid foods into Zach’s diet and one of his favorites is a grilled cheese sandwich.  It is really funny to watch him take little bites of sandwich off the small pieces we give him.  He takes more and more steps each week by himself.  He weighs approximately 19.5lbs and has gotten longer because some of his 6-9 month clothes do not fit anymore.  There is not a day that goes by that Jake and I do not laugh at something Zachary is doing.  He is the pride and joy of our lives.

10.19.09Zachary’s 1st Pumpkin Patch

by Kim

Jake, Zach and I visited Konow’s Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen.  It was a little chilly that day, but we still had a great time.  Zachary was so entertained by all the kids, it was hard to get him to look at the camera for a picture.

Zach and I took a ride in the cow cars.  He had fun as the tractor pulling us went in circles and weaved back and forth.

10.19.09Lunsford Second Cousins

by Kim

Jake’s cousins, Dan and Autumn welcomed their little boy, Roman on September 22nd.  They live in Michigan, so we were super excited when they made a trip to Tinley Park.  Roman’s big sister, Naomi is so proud of her little brother!  All the kids had a great time playing together.

10.19.09Welcome Noah VanderBaan!

by Kim

Meghann and Kabe VanderBaan welcomed their little boy a week early on September 24th.  Meghann and I have been friends since kindergarten.  Noah is just precious!!!!  He has blond hair just like his daddy. I had not been feeling well, so I had to wait until he was two weeks old before I got to meet him.

10.19.09Viravec Family FunDay

by Kim

We had Jake’s family over for a cousin play day and to watch the Bears.  The kids all looked so cute dressed in their Bears attire!  We had a really fun afternoon eating yummy food and cheering on the Bears.

We tried to get Zach to smile while wearing this helmet, but he wanted nothing to do with it.

10.19.09No Puffs Left Behind

by Kim

Zach was eating some puffs while playing in his exersaucer.  All of them did not make it into his mouth, but once he was back on the floor, he made sure to eat those puffs that got away!
