9.27.09Minnesota Twins Game
by Kim
It is the last year for the Metrodome, so it was on Jake’s list of must see stadiums. Since the Vikings also play here, the stadium was much different than what we are used to seeing. This was Zach’s first baseball game and he did great! I had to dress him in a Cubs outfit even though the Cubs were not playing. He loved to watch all the people and lights and was very entertained by the screws on the seats.

9.20.09Yellowstone National Park
by Kim
Our second leg of the trip was Yellowstone National Park. Jake and I could not believe how big of an area this park covered. For example, if we were to drive the north loop of the park from our hotel in West Yellowstone, it would have taken us about 8 hours! We saw a lot of buffalo, elk and antelope, but we never saw any bears or moose. I was really hoping to see one of those animals in the wild.

Old Faithful. We were on the side where we could be sprayed when she erupted. The mist was pretty cold.

9.20.09Our First Family Vacation
by Kim
We took off on September 16th for an 11 day road trip thru 10 states.
Zach is buckled in and ready to go!
Enjoying lunch at a rest stop along the way.
Our first stop was in N. Sioux Falls, SD. Zach enjoyed swimming, but did not sleep that well in his pack-n-play that night.
I just love this picture! Zach is like “who are you?’
There were so many signs along the road promoting Wall Drug, we just had to stop. It was a pretty big store that sold all kinds of stuff…food, souvenirs, leather goods, etc.
9.20.0910 Months Old
by Kim
This past month has been quite busy and lots of new things happened for Zachary. To start off, his front teeth came thru the beginning of September, so he now has 6 teeth. He looks so cute when he smiles and shows them off. He also really enjoys to have his teeth brushed.
Zachary also took a few steps by himself on September 1st. I was so happy I was home and able to see him. And we were able to get it on video. Since then, he has not really taken any more steps, but he is now crawling all over the place! After riding in the car for about 1500 miles, we arrived at our hotel in South Dakota, sat him on the floor and he took off! He is now Mr. Busy Body exploring everything.
He has also started to eat more “solid” foods and some of his favorites are cheese, pancakes and french toast.
There is not a day that goes by that Zach does not make Jake and I laugh! He is such a great little boy and we cherish everyday spent with him.
